No.5 Eagles sunk by Iowa Lakes

ESTHERVILLE - The Kirkwood men's basketball team suffered too many leaks on defense Saturday and lost to Iowa Lakes, 83-79, in an ICCAC game in Estherville.

The setback dropped the fifth-ranked Eagles to 4-4 overall and 4-4 in the conference.

Iowa Lakes shot a healthy 56.9 percent from the floor, hitting 37 of 65 attempts. Two of the Lakers combined for 50 points, with Kevin Cook netting 26 and Xzavier Jones scoring 24. Cook was 13-for-16 from the floor for Iowa Lakes (5-3, 5-3).

Corvon Seales topped Kirkwood with 18 points. Caleb Delzell scored 14, Chris Burnell 13, and Blake Brinkmeyer 11.

Iowa Lakes owned the backboards, 35-25.
