Kirkwood Men Drop A Heartbreaker At Home
The 19th ranked Kirkwood men's basketball team dropped to 5-6 (5-6 in ICCAC play) Thursday night after a tough fought battle against the Blackhawks, by a score of 63-61. Southeastern CC moves to 8-3 on the year.
The Eagles were led in scoring by freshman guard, Noah King (Caledonia, MN), who scored 12 points, all coming from the three-point line, where he went 4-8.
Multiple other Eagles contributed on the night in a variety of ways. Blake Brinkmeyer (West Des Moines, IA) chipped in 10 points to go along with 4 rebounds. Caleb Delzell (Camanche, IA) had a strong showing on the glass, pulling down 9 rebounds to go along with 8 points and Sophomore guard Chris Burnell (Rockford, IL) scored 9 points while leading the team in assists with 4 on the night.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday (Feb. 27) at home against Iowa Central CC (5-6) in Johnson Hall. This is the first meeting between the Eagles and Tritons this year.
