Brinkmeyer sparks KCC by Iowa Western

Blake Brinkmeyer had a big game for Kirkwood Saturday afternoon to help the Eagles net a big victory.

Brinkmeyer collected 17 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks as the 19th-ranked Eagles tripped Iowa Western, 65-60, in a tight ICCAC contest at Johnson Hall.

Kirkwood won its fifth straight game and raised its overall record to 10-6. Iowa Western fell to 8-8.

Jaden Keller dunked to give the Eagles a 63-57 lead with 10 seconds remaining. Dhashon Dyson hit a 3-pointer to pull Iowa Western within 63-60 with five seconds left, but Noah King made two free throws for the Eagles with 4.2 seconds remaining to clinch the victory.

Corvon Seales finished with 13 points, eight rebounds, and three assists for Kirkwood. Keller contributed 10 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks.

Dyson scored 13 points for Iowa Western.
