Eagles get knocked out of the Region XI tournament

ESTHERVILLE - The Kirkwood men's basketball season came to an end Thursday night in Estherville.

The 20th-ranked Eagles lost to eighth-ranked Iowa Lakes, 79-56, in the regional semifinals and finished the season with a 14-10 record.

Iowa Lakes (17-7) will host Southwestern in the regional finals Saturday, with the winner advancing to the NJCAA Division II national tournament.

Corvon Seales led Kirkwood with 14 points and was the only KCC player to reach double figures. The Eagles shot only 36.2 percent from the field (21 of 58) and were soundly beaten on the backboards, 41-24.

Ryan Hall poured in seven 3-pointers and scored 26 points for Iowa Lakes. The Lakers led by 22 points at halftime, 46-24.
