NO.4 KCC SOFTBALL TEAM SPLITS IN KANSAS

The fourth-ranked Kirkwood softball team split a pair of doubleheaders in Kansas this past weekend.
 
The Eagles (6-2) split their twin-bill with Johnson County Community College Friday, winning 3-0 when Kori Wedeking pitched a one-hitter and losing 1-0 when the Johnson County pitcher tossed a no-hitter against them.
 
Emilee Linder, Peggy Klingler, and Grace Lubben collected RBIs in the 3-0 victory. Wedeking pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts.
 
Payton Akers struck out 10 batters for Kirkwood in the 1-0 loss in the nightcap.
 
Kirkwood split with Kansas City Community College on Saturday, losing the first game 6-3 and rolling 11-0 in the nightcap.
 
Reagan Schutte belted a home run in the 6-3 setback. Kara Maiers pitched 3.2 innings and took the loss.
 
Wedeking pitched a no-hitter in the 11-0 victory over Kansas City with two strikeouts. Linder went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Annie Gahan had two hits with two RBIs and scored three times. Lubben had two hits and Kennedy Hill collected two RBIs.
