
WEDEKING TOSSES 2-HIT SHUTOUT FOR EAGLES
Kori Wedeking twirled a two-hit shutout Saturday as the 11th-ranked Kirkwood Eagles blanked 17th-ranked Iowa Lakes, 5-0, in the regional tournament at Kirkwood.
Kirkwood (41-15) will face Iowa Lakes (36-11) again Sunday at noon in the first championship game.
Wedeking (17-5, 1.91) was masterful as the Eagles won their ninth straight game.
Emilee Linder went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Grace Lubben had two hits, including a triple. Alecea Mendoza scored twice.
