EAGLES TOP LACKAWANNA AT WORLD SERIES

ENID, Okla. - The Kirkwood Eagles bounced back and defeated Lackawanna, 8-3, in the losers bracket of the NJCAA Division II World Series Sunday in Oklahoma.

Kirkwood (43-21) will face Lincoln Land (44-10) in an elimination game Monday at 10 a.m.

Kyle Moeder went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs to spark the Eagles. Josh Fitzgerald was 2-for-5. Justin Martinez walked three times and scored twice.

Tyler Tscherter (8-1, 2.16 ERA) pitched six strong innings for Kirkwood. He allowed only one earned run with six strikeouts. Graysen Drezek tossed three scoreless innings with five strikeouts for his fourth save.

Lackawanna pitchers walked 12 batters.

Kirkwood is the No. 6 seed in the tournament and Lincoln Land is the No. 2 seed. There will be eight teams left in the World Series when play resumes on Monday.
