ICCAC SPRING 2023 PREVIEW | DIVISION II SOFTBALL

ICCAC SPRING 2023 PREVIEW | DIVISION II SOFTBALL

Posted: Jan 25, 2023

The Division II Softball league has been dominated for the past decade by DMACC and Kirkwood. The last team other than those two to make the World Series -- Iowa Lakes in 2010.

All signs this year would point to DMACC and Kirkwood making their way through to the World Series -- with both teams ranked in the top five heading into the season. But the rest of the league is hungry to break through and get a piece of the action.

Iowa Lakes took third last year and has pieces back to make another push -- one which ended in the regional championship game in extra innings. Iowa Central has a number of players back in their lineup as well, as do NIACC and Northeast. Anyone could emerge this season as a contender.

Region 11 still has two routes to the World Series this year -- and will again next season when Hawkeye joins the Division II ranks.

Until then -- find out where teams might shake out this season and what to watch for the 2023 Division II Softball preview!
