Hall & Roe Named ICCAC Athlete's of the Week

Freshman Sailor Hall showed why Kirkwood is one of the best teams in the country this season. The freshman pitcher started two games against two top-10 teams last week and came out victorious in each. Against No. 9 South Mountain (Ariz.), she went seven innings allowing three runs on four hits and a walk. The Eagles won 4-3. Then against No. 2 Phoenix (Ariz.), Hall again threw all seven innings as the Eagles won 9-0. She gave up just one hit and struck out five in a dominating performance. Hall has a 1.10 ERA in 44.2 innings this season -- and a record of 6-1.

Sydney Roe 
Freshman - Catcher
Davenport, IA / Assumption High School

Kirkwood headed to Arizona last week to face off against some stiff NJCAA Division II competition. The Eagles came away with five wins in seven games with help from freshman first baseman Sydney Roe. Roe collected 11 hits in 20 at-bats for a .550 -- with four for the team's games coming against top 10 teams. She had four-multi hit games including three-hit performances against Lake Region State (N.D.) & Glendale (Ariz.). This season Roe is batting .441 with two homers and 21 RBI. The Eagles open their conference season on Wednesday against Iowa Lakes.
