NO.13 KCC SOFTBALL SHINES IN MISSISSIPPI
The 13th-ranked Kirkwood softball team got strong pitching and won four straight games in Mississippi this past weekend.
The Eagles defeated Meridian (7-1), 11th-ranked Northeast Mississippi(7-1), Mississippi Delta (11-2), and Northeast Mississippi again (2-0).
Kara Maiers collected two of the victories, with 14 strikeouts in the 7-1 conquest of Northeast Mississippi. Sailor Hall and Jenna Sprague also had strong outings.
Sydney Roe went 8-for-13 with eight RBIs. Neveah Hildebrandt was 7-for-13 with six runs and four RBIs. Emilee Linder went 7-for-14 with four runs and four RBIs. Peggy Klingler was 4-for-10 with three RBIs. Brooke Kilberg was 3-for-8 with two RBIs.
Grace Lubben belted a home run for the Eagles.
Kirkwood raised its record to 10-4 and is riding an eight-game winning streak.
