NO.8 KCC SOFTBALL TROUNCES ELLSWORTH
IOWA FALLS - The eighth-ranked Kirkwood softball team belted Ellsworth, 12-2 and 21-0, in an ICCAC doubleheader in Iowa Falls Friday.
The Eagles raised their records to 21-6 overall and 6-0 in the league. Ellsworth fell to 1-12 overall and 0-6 in the conference. Both games lasted only five innings.
Emilee Linder and Neveah Hildebrandt socked home runs for Kirkwood in Game 1. Linder went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Annie Gahan was 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs.
Sailor Hall went 2-for-2 and scored twice in the opener. Chelsea Buck was 2-for-3 and scored twice. Jenna Sprague (6-1) got the victory.
Kirkwood exploded for 11 runs in the top of the first inning in the nightcap. Sydney Roe and Lexi Hines hit home runs in the ballgame.
Kennedy Hill went 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs. Emilee Linder, Hines and Grace Zaugg had two hits. Roe, Buck, Nadia Telecky, Brooke Kilburg and Hines drove in two runs.
Sailor Hall (9-1) pitched three innings for the victory.
