No.7 Eagles spike two foes in Nebraska

NORFOLK, Neb. - The Kirkwood women's volleyball team collected a pair of victories in Nebraska Saturday.

The seventh-ranked Eagles topped Northeast Community College, 27-29, 25-12, 25-23, 25-22, in their first match of the afternoon. Kirkwood swept Central Community College, 25-17, 25-23, 25-21, in their second outing of the day.

The victories lifted the Eagles to 6-1 for the campaign.

Kamara Dickerson, Katie Kopriva and Maggie Peters all had 12 kills in the 3-1 victory over Northeast and Anna Gorsich collected 11. Brooke Mulholland finished with 25 assists and Rachael Nelson had 19.

Mullholland, Dickerson and Allison Pisarcik all had two service aces against Northeast. Defensively, Pisarcik had 28 digs, Dickerson 18 and Takoa Kopriva added 13. Peters had 5 blocks.

Dickerson had 15 more kills in the 3-0 sweep of Central. Katie Kopriva had eight kills, Gorsich six, Emily Strauss five and Peters five. Nelson led the way with 18 assists and Mulholland had 14.

Pisarcik lead the Eagles defensively with 16 more digs against Central. Dickerson and Takoa Kopriva had nine apiece. Pisarcik served three aces. Peters was tough at the net with 4 blocks.
