KCC spikers sail into regional finals

The Kirkwood women's volleyball team handled Northeast Community College in straight sets Sunday, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18, in the semifinals of the regional tournament at Johnson Hall.

The seventh-ranked Eagles (16-4) will host third-ranked DMACC (17-5) in the regional finals Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Anna Gorsich led Kirkwood with 12 kills. Emily Strauss had 10 kills and Katie Kopriva furnished eight.

Rachael Nelson collected 35 assists. Allison Pisarcik made 18 digs and Macy Akers added 14.

Maggie Peters had four blocks and Jada Golden-Smith snuffed three.
