No.6 Eagles drop a tough match on the road

OTTUMWA - The Kirkwood volleyball team fell short on the road in Ottumwa Tuesday night.

The Eagles lost to NJCAA Dl Indian Hills, 25-20, 26-28, 25-23, 25-17, in a tight ICCAC contest.

Kirkwood, ranked No. 6 in NJCAA Division II, fell to 10-3 for the campaign. Indian Hills raised its record to 10-5.

Offensively the Eagles were led by Anna Gorsich with 13 kills. Kamara Dickerson added 12 kills, Katie Kopriva eight, Jada Golden-Smith six, Maggie Peters six, and Emily Strauss five.

Brooke Mulholland collected 24 assists and Rachael Nelson finished with 23. Defensively, Allison Pisarcik and Takoa Kopriva each had 11 digs. Golden-Smith led with seven blocks.

The Eagles are back on the road Thursday for another ICCAC matchup with NIACC, in Mason City at 7 pm.
