KCC volleyball falls to Iowa Western

The Kirkwood women's volleyball team ran into a tough outfit from Iowa Western Sunday.

The sixth-ranked Eagles lost to Iowa Western, 25-18, 25-19, 21-25, 25-11, in an ICCAC match at Johnson Hall.

Anna Gorsich led Kirkwood with 11 kills. Kamara Dickerson, Katie Kopriva and Jada Golden-Smith had six kills apiece. Emily Strauss had five.

Brooke Mulholland collected 18 assists and Rachael Nelson finished with 13. Dickerson made 11 digs and Allison Pisarcik had 10.

Golden-Smith and Maggie Peters blocked seven shots. Kopriva and Gorsich blocked four apiece.

Kirkwood fell to 12-4 for the season. Iowa Western raised its record to 15-3.
