Kirkwood Women’s Basketball Take Down Southeastern to Stay Undefeated

Second-ranked Kirkwood improved to 10-0 (10-0 ICCAC) on the season with a 99-59 victory over Southeastern Wednesday night at Johnson Hall in Cedar Rapids.

Kirkwood only led 24-17 after a quarter, but they picked up their defense in the second quarter, hold the visiting Blackhawks to just 8 points in the quarter, as the Eagles took a 44-25 lead into the locker room.

The Eagles shot a scorching 84.6% (11-13) in the third quarter, as they led 78-48 heading into the final quarter of play.

Five Kirkwood players finished in double figures led by sophomore Ashley Tull's game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Kortney Drake and freshman Maddie Paulsen both finished with 13 points apiece.  Tatiana Hodges-Johnson added 12 points and Dominque Rodriguez chipped in 11 off the bench.

The Eagles return to the court on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm as they host Iowa Central in Johnson Hall.
