Drake hits 7 triples for Eagles

CRESTON - Kortney Drake had the hot hand for the Kirkwood Eagles Saturday afternoon.

Make that red hot.

Drake poured in seven 3-pointers and scored a career-best 21 points as the second-ranked Eagles spanked Southwestern, 77-51, in an ICCAC game in Creston.

Karsyn Stratton, Tatiana Hodges-Johnson, Ashley Tull and Dominique Rodriguez contributed 11 points for Kirkwood. Tull also grabbed 11 rebounds for a double-double.

The Eagles began the game with a 10-0 surge and never trailed, raising their record to 16-1. Southwestern fell to 9-9.
