No.1 KCC women suffer first loss

The Kirkwood women's basketball team is having a terrific season, but the Eagles are not perfect anymore.

The top-ranked Eagles were trimmed by Iowa Western, 73-68, in a spirited ICCAC game at Johnson Hall Saturday afternoon.

The outcome left both teams with 14-1 records.

Kemara Watson collected 19 points, nine rebounds, and four assists for Kirkwood. Karsyn Stratton scored 15 points. Ashley Tull grabbed 10 rebounds.

Gabriella Smith scored 19 points for Iowa Western and Isnelle Natabou, a 6-foot-5 center, had 18 points.
