No.2 KCC women belt No.12 DMACC

The expected showdown between Kirkwood and DMACC became a showcase for the Eagles Saturday afternoon.

The second-ranked Eagles smacked the 12th-ranked Bears, 89-55, in an ICCAC women's basketball game at Johnson Hall.

Kemara Watson poured in 12 points in the first period and finished with 19 points and six rebounds for Kirkwood. Kortney Drake and Tasia Jordan scored 12 points apiece.

Tatiana Johnson-Hodges pitched in 11 points and Karsyn Stratton netted 10. Maddie Paulsen contributed six points, six rebounds, and four assists off the bench. Naya Hayman finished with eight points and five assists. Ashley Tull blocked four shots.

Magan Christopherson led DMACC with 13 points.

Kirkwood raised its record to 18-1 for the campaign. DMACC fell to 13-5.
