No.2 KCC women clinch No.1 seed

The Kirkwood women's basketball team has clinched the No. 1 seed for the regional tournament in two weeks.

It happened Wednesday night.

The second-ranked Eagles bopped Marshalltown, 76-30, in a mismatch at Johnson Hall.

Kirkwood raised its record to 17-1 and cannot be caught in the Division II standings by anyone else in the ICCAC.

Kemara Watson topped a balanced attack with 14 points. Ashley Tull scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Kortney Drake popped in four 3-pointers and notched 12 points. Karsyn Statton had 10 points.

Nobody for Marshalltown (1-14) scored more than six points.
