Moseley shines as Eagles sweep DMACC

BOONE - Chase Moseley turned in a fantastic performance as the Kirkwood Eagles swept a three-game series from DMACC over an extended weekend in Boone.
 
Moseley went 9-for-11 with three homers and nine RBIs as the 11th-ranked Eagles swept an ICCAC doubleheader Saturday and finished the series with another win Monday.
 
Moseley went 2-for-3 with a home run as Kirkwood trimmed DMACC, 3-2, in the first game of their twinbill Saturday. Lorenz Elion went 2-for-3. Tucker Christensen (3-0) pitched six strong innings for the victory. Bryce Schares tossed a scoreless final inning for a save.
 
Moseley erupted in the nightcap Saturday when he went 4-for-5 with two homers and eight RBIs. Ryan Nelson went 3-for-4. Joe Simpson was 2-for-3 with three runs. Noah Furcht was 2-for-4 and scored twice. Casey Stalzer (1-1) picked up the victory in relief.
 
Moseley stayed hot Monday when he went 3-for-3 with a triple and scored three times in a 6-4 triumph. Furcht was 2-for-4 with a homer and five RBIs. Elion went 2-for-3. Blaine Harpenau (4-2) was the winning pitcher. Schares collected his seventh save, which ranks second in the country in NJCAA Division II.
 
Moseley is hitting .487 with nine homers and 34 RBIs.
 
Kirkwood raised its records to 20-8 overall and 4-4 in the conference. DMACC fell to 17-10 overall and 5-3 in the league.
