NO.11 KCC BASEBALL TEAM ENJOYS TENNESSEE

The 11th-ranked Kirkwood baseball team compiled a 4-2 record during its six-game swing through Tennessee.

The Eagles defeated Carl Sandburg (12-1), Rock Valley twice (5-3, 9-5) and Iowa Lakes (15-3). The Eagles lost to Mott (7-3) and 20th-ranked Parkland (4-2).

Kirkwood is sitting at 13-6 for the campaign.

Kyle Hayes belted three home runs and went 7-for-21 with six runs and 11 RBIs. Cael Frost tore the leather off the ball and finished 12-for-15 with eight runs, eight RBIs and a home run.

Joe Simpson went 6-for-16 with six runs, six RBIs and a homer. Spencer Campidilli drove in seven runs and hit a home run. Miles Risley was 5-for-14 with three RBIs.

Logan Runde (3-0), Caden Stoffer (2-0), Cade Turner (1-0) and Matt Irvine (1-0) collected victories on the mound. Nic Scanlon notched his fifth save.
