NO.19 KCC BASEBALL BELTS LAKERS

ESTHERVILLE - The 19th-ranked Kirkwood baseball team drilled Iowa Lakes, 11-1, in an ICCAC conference game in Estherville Sunday.

Kyle Hayes, Trenton Burkhalter, and Jack Lux socked home runs for the Eagles. Hayes, Miles Risley, Burkhalter, and Lux all had two hits. Hayes drove in four runs. Risley, Burkhalter and Lux had two RBIs.

Logan Runde (5-0) allowed only one earned run in five innings and had seven strikeouts.

Kirkwood split a doubleheader at Southwestern on Friday. The Eagles dropped the first game, 10-2, then rolled to a 28-7 verdict in Game 2.

Noah Furcht hit a home run and drove in two runs in the 10-2 setback.

Lux went 4-for-4 with a homer, four runs and four RBIs in the 28-7 romp, Risley was 4-for-6 with three runs and five RBIs. Alex Ritzer was 3-for-6 with three doubles, three runs and six RBIs. Ryosuke Goto had two hits and scored three times.

Furcht went 2-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs. Cael Frost was 2-for-4 and scored three times. Burkhalter went 2-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs.

Kirkwood is 26-15 overall and 13-9 in the ICCAC.
