SCANLON HELPS NO.14 EAGLES WIN SERIES

FORT DODGE - Nic Scanlon had a big weekend as the 14th-ranked Kirkwood Eagles won their ICCAC series against Iowa Central in Fort Dodge.

Scanlon collected two saves as the Eagles won the series, 2-1. He was credited with a save in a 10-4 victory Friday and picked up another in a 5-4 triumph Saturday, giving him 10 saves and tying for the most in NJCAA Division II college baseball.

Iowa Central won the second game Saturday, 12-11.

Miles Risley went 7-for-12 in the series with a homer and six RBIs. Noah Furcht was 5-for-16 with six RBIs. Owen Ross was 4-for-10 with a homer and four runs.

Alex Ritzer was 4-for-12. Joe Simpson went 3-for-10 and scored four times. Sam Witt was 3-for-9 with a homer, five runs and three RBIs. Kyle Hayes socked a home run.

Kirkwood is 21-12 overall and is tied for seventh place in the conference at 8-6.
