BURKHALTER POWERS EAGLES BY REIVERS

Trenton Burkhalter belted a pair of home runs Saturday at the Kirkwood Eagles defeated Iowa Western, 19-9, in an ICCAC game at Kirkwood.

The Eagles won the three-game series, 2-1, raising their records to 24-13 overall and 11-7 in the conference.

Iowa Western won the first game of the series, 8-3, on Friday. Kirkwood took the second game of that doubleheader, 16-8, setting the stage for the rubber match on Saturday.

Burkhalter went 5-for-7 in the series with three homers, five runs and six RBIs. Miles Risley was 7-for-14 with a homer, four runs and three RBIs. Alex Ritzger went 5-for-10 with five runs and two RBIs. Jack Lux also went 5-for-10 with three runs and five RBIs.

Joe Simpson was 5-for-11 with a homer, five runs and four RBIs. Cael Frost was 4-for-13 with five RBIs. Noah Furcht went 4-for-13 and scored five runs. Dylan Davis was 3-for-7 with four runs.

Alec Nigut (6-2) and Caleb Banowetz (1-1) were the winning pitchers.
