NO.15 KCC BASEBALL SWEEPS NO.12 SCC
WEST BURLINGTON - The 15th-ranked Kirkwood baseball team swept an ICCAC doubleheader from 12th-ranked Southeastern, 8-3 and 11-5, Thursday in West Burlington.
The Eagles raised their records to 18-8 overall and 5-2 in the conference. Southeastern fell to 19-8 overall and 4-2 in the league.
Kyle Hayes belted a home run and scored three runs in the 8-3 victory. Joe Simpson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Cael Frost and Miles Risley had two hits.
Jake Pemble (2-0) picked up the victory in relief. Nic Scanlon got his eighth save.
Noah Furcht socked two homers and drove in four runs in the 11-5 verdict. Joe Simpson hit a home run and drove in four runs. Owen Ross was 2-for-5 with a homer, two runs and two RBIs. Frost had three hits. Hayes and Spencer Campidilli had two hits.
Blaine Harpenau (2-1) allowed only two runs in six innings for the victory.
