#12 Eagles Take Down Illinois Valley
Cedar Rapids, IA- The #12 Kirkwood Eagles took on Illinois Valley Community College on Tuesday night at Johnson Hall. Besides the first basket of the night, Kirkwood never trailed in the contest. The win puts Kirkwood at 6-1 on the year who are looking to continue their momentum into conference play in December.
The night saw a lot of contributions from different Eagles. Kirkwood scored 24 points off of second-chance points and scored 40 points in the paint. The Eagles bench outscored Illinois Valley 41-10, a real difference-maker in the game. Kirkwood had four different players with double-digit scoring efforts. Colby Dolphin, Jack Wagemester, Zach Erwin, and Tate Haughenbury put up 12, 11, 11, and 10 points, respectively. Wagemester was 3-4 from 3-point range while Dolphin hit 4 from beyond the arc. Erwin grabbed 10 boards on top of the 11 points to put up a double-double on the evening.
Kirkwood will be back in action next Wednesday at 7:30 pm when they take on John Wood at Johnson Hall.
