#11 Eagles Take Down John Wood

Cedar Rapids, IA- The #11 Kirkwood Eagles took on John Wood at Johnson Hall on Wednesday night. The game saw some fast-paced action with the Eagles prevailing in the end with a score of 70-52. The game puts Kirkwood with a record of    7-1 heading into conference play in December. 

Kirkwood shot 40% from behind the 3-point line last night with Caylor Hoffer going 3 for 7 from downtown. Jacob Runyan led the Eagles in assists, dishing out 5 while Zach Erwin and James Spencer were big off the glass taking down 9 and 8 rebounds, respectively. 

The first half saw some back and forth action between the two teams, seeing some ties and lead changes until the Eagles started to pull away with 8 minutes left in the half. Kirkwood took the lead after the teams were tied at 16-16 and never looked back for the rest of the game. Their largest lead of the game was 24 points and they looked to be well in control in the second half. 

Next up for the Eagles is Western Iowa Tech. They play the Comets on Saturday at 3pm in Sioux City, IA.
