#8 Eagles Stifle Tigers at Home
Cedar Rapids, IA- In a notable basketball clash last night, the Kirkwood Eagles faced off against the Marshalltown Tigers at Johnson Hall, emerging victorious with a final score of 64-40.
The first half saw Marshalltown holding a narrow 26-24 lead at halftime. However, Kirkwood's game-changing defense took center stage in the second half, restricting the Tigers to a mere 14 points and turning the tide in their favor.
Kirkwood's defensive strength was complemented by an efficient performance in the paint, where they outscored Marshalltown 26-18. This highlighted the Eagles' ability to capitalize on close-range scoring opportunities.
Puolrah Gong led all scorers with 21 points and secured a team-high 7 rebounds, while Colby Dolphin contributed 14 points to Kirkwood's offensive effort.
