#7 Eagles Soar to Victory Against Trojans
Cedar Rapids, IA- Last night the Kirkwood Eagles clashed with NIACC Trojans at Johnson Hall, securing a solid victory with a final score of 92-62.
The first half was competitive, with the Eagles leading 39-30 at halftime. However, Kirkwood's strong defense in the second half allowed them to pull away, establishing a 30-point victory.
One key to Kirkwood's success was their three-point shooting. They made 12 out of 21 attempts, while NIACC struggled, making only 2 out of 19. Kirkwood also dominated the boards, outrebounding NIACC 38 to 24.
Individual performances stood out, with Colby Dolphin going 5-8 from three-point range and scoring 15 points. Ayouba Berthe led all scorers with 18 points, and Puolrah Gong added 16.
The win elevates the Eagles to a 15-2 overall record and a 6-1 standing in the ICCAC. The next challenge for Kirkwood is a crucial ICCAC matchup against Ellsworth this Saturday in Iowa Falls.
