Eagles Secure Dominant Win Against Hawks

Cedar Rapids, IA- In a crucial ICCAC clash at Johnson Hall, the Kirkwood Eagles showcased their skills with a commanding 90-53 victory over the Northeast Hawks. The win propelled Kirkwood to an impressive 5-1 standing in ICCAC play and a 13-2 record overall.

Ayouba Berthe led the Eagles' offensive charge, scoring an impressive 19 points. James Spencer secured his first double-double in a Kirkwood uniform, recording 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Trey Kriener contributed 12 points and 8 rebounds, while Traijan Sain added 10 points to the scoreboard.

Kirkwood dominated from the outset, heading into halftime with a commanding 46-22 lead. Their defensive strength was evident, converting turnovers into 24 points compared to Northeast's 11. Additionally, the Eagles asserted their presence in the paint, outscoring Northeast 48-22 in that area. A large reason for the 37-point rout was the difference in bench scoring. Kirkwood's bench outscored Northeast's 44-26. 

Looking forward, Kirkwood's next challenge is against Marshalltown on January 10th at Johnson Hall, scheduled for 6 pm.
