#10 Eagles Fall Short at #4 DMACC

Boone, IA- The tenth-ranked Kirkwood Eagles traveled to Boone, IA on Saturday to take on the DMACC Bears in an important ICCAC game. A tightly contested game throughout the first half, the Eagles fell short at the end losing to DMACC by a score of 102-86. The loss puts the Eagles at 9-2 on the season and 2-1 in the ICCAC. 

 

The Eagles came into Boone ready to play. Neither side saw a lead bigger than eight in the first half and Kirkwood managed to take it within one by a score of 44-45 right before halftime. DMACC came out quickly in the second half and Kirkwood couldn't overcome the lead built by the Bears. It was a balanced effort for the Eagles with four of Kirkwood's five starters scoring in the double digits. Ayouba Berthe led all scorers with 17 points and led all rebounders with 7 boards. The Eagles continued their low turnover output with only 6 on the game compared to DMACC's 22. 

 

Next for the Eagles is a home game against Iowa Lakes on Wednesday 12/13 at 7:30 pm.
