NO.1 EAGLES RAISE RECORD TO 6-0
The top-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team won both of its contests in the Kirkwood Classic at Johnson Hall this past weekend.
The Eagles knocked off fifth-ranked Bryant & Stratton, 70-49, on Friday night and clipped Rock Valley College, 74-69, in the second round Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles raised their record to 6-0.
Tasia Jordan led Kirkwood with 21 points and eight rebounds against Bryant & Stratton. Kaylee Corbin collected 11 points and five rebounds off the bench. Jada Devine scored 10 points.
Jordan finished with a double-double against Rock Valley with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Alycia Patterson had 11 points and five assists. Demetria Prewitt contributed 11 points and seven rebounds. Emily Dreckman tossed in 10 points.
Rock Valley (5-1) suffered its first loss of the season.
