NO.1 EAGLES WHIP NO.5 IOWA WESTERN
The top-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team drubbed fifth-ranked Iowa Western, 82-60, in a showdown of undefeated ICCAC powers Saturday at Johnson Hall.
Iowa Western (8-1) was averaging 97.5 points coming into the game, but the Kirkwood defense put a lid on the Reivers and held the visitors to just 32.1 percent shooting from the floor.
Jada Devine led the Eagles (9-0) with 21 points and hit all three of her 3-pointers. She was 6-for-6 from the field.
Tasia Jordan collected 17 points and eight rebounds. Emily Dreckman contributed 13 points off the bench with three 3-pointers. She also dished out a team-high six assists. Kaylee Corbin grabbed seven rebounds.
Kirkwood shot 53.4 percent, nailing 31 of 58 from the floor, and was 8 for 15 on 3-pointers.
