Eagles Win Big at DMACC

Eagles Win Big at DMACC

After a slow start, No.3 Kirkwood found their groove near the end of the first half to help them cruise to a 72-55 victory over DMACC in Boone on Thursday night.

The Eagles (24-2, 13-1) struggled offensively for a majority of the first half but were able to use a 12-3 run over the final 4:12 of the second quarter to take a 32-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Kirkwood and DMACC traded buckets for most of the third quarter before the Eagles put one more run together to put the game out of reach.

Leading by only 10 at 45-35 with 3:41 remaining in the third quarter, the Eagles would use a 19-4 run over the next 6:37 to bust the game open and take a 64-39 lead and eventually cruise to the victory.

Sophomore Tasia Jordan led the Eagles in both scoring and rebounding, as she netted 19 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds.

Freshmen Demetria Prewitt joined Jordan in double figures, as she finished with 16 points.

As a team, the Eagles shot a season-high 20-23 (87.0%) from the free-throw line.

Kirkwood continues their road trip, as they head to Estherville to take on Iowa Lakes Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
