EAGLES TAKE 3RD AT NATIONAL TOURNEY

PORT HURON, Mich. - The Kirkwood women's basketball team captured third place at the NJCAA Division II national tournament Saturday with a convincing 81-55 victory over Harcum College of Pennsylvania.

The Eagles finished the season with a 32-3 record.

Kirkwood was seeking the ninth national title in school history, but the Eagles lost to CCBC-Essex, 66-59, in the semifinals Friday. Essex won the national title Saturday night.

Tasia Jordan poured in 31 points for Kirkwood against Harcum College in her final game at Kirkwood. She made 14 of 20 shots from the field and also grabbed eight rebounds.

Emily Dreckman scored nine points for the Eagles. Jada Devine contributed eight markers. Karsyn Stratton, Zhakyla Evans, Demetria Prewitt and Kaylee Corbin netted seven points apiece.

Tasia Jordan was named to the All-Tournament Team.
