No. 1 KCC men's basketball suffers first loss of the season to Illinois Central, 72-66

The Kirkwood Men's Basketball team traveled to East Peoria, IL Tuesday night to take on the Illinois Central Cougars. The Eagles came into the game shorthanded while only having nine players available to play due to a combination of injuries and illness. The Cougars came out ready for a fight and came away handing Kirkwood their first loss of the season by a score of 72-66. The pressure provided by Illinois Central forced Kirkwood into a total of 23 turnovers on the night which lead to 19 Cougar points. This stat alone is what lead to the overall outcome, as the Eagles lead in almost every other statistical category on the night.

Sophomore, DaChaun Anderson was one of the lone bright spots for the Eagles as he recorded his second double-double of the season with 18 points (8-11 FG) to go along with 10 rebounds.

Kirkwood looks to bounce back this Saturday, November 27th, when they travel to Canton, IL to take on Spoon River CC.  The game is set to tip at 3:00 pm.
