BIG RALLY LIFTS EAGLES PAST DMACC

The 11th-ranked Kirkwood Eagles staged a big rally Wednesday night and tripped ninth-ranked DMACC, 76-73, in overtime in an ICCAC conference game at Johnson Hall.
 
The Eagles trailed by 15 points, 57-42, with six minutes left in the second half. They caught fire for a 12-0 run to pull within 57-54, then tied the game 60-60 on back-to-back dunks by Blake Brinkmeyer.
 
Both teams traded baskets and regulation ended in a 62-62 tie.
 
DMACC led, 73-72, in the final stages of overtime, but Brinkmeyer hit two clutch free throws with 10.5 seconds left to give Kirkwood a 74-73advantage. DMACC committed a turnover with 1.4 seconds remaining and Dre Anderson clinched the victory with a pair of free throws with seven-tenths of a second left.
 
Dre Anderson topped a balanced attack for Kirkwood with 13 points. Caleb Delzell and Brinkmeyer finished with 12 points apiece. DaChaun Anderson scored 11 points and Cassius Brooks netted 10.
 
Kirkwood snapped a three-game losing streak and raised its records to 7-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
 
Noah Parcher scored 19 points for DMACC (8-4, 1-1).
