NO.14 KCC MEN RALLY PAST IOWA CENTRAL

Slow start, fast finish.

The 14th-ranked Kirkwood Eagles rallied for a 66-57 victory over Iowa Central in an ICCAC men's basketball game Saturday at Johnson Hall.

The Eagles scored only five points in the first 12 minutes of the game and trailed at halftime, 31-22, but the second half was a completely different story.

Dre Anderson popped in three straight 3-pointers at a key juncture to eliminate a 48-42 deficit with seven minutes left and lift the Eagles into a 51-48 advantage. The home team never trailed after that and outscored the Tritons, 44-26, in the second half.

Anderson led Kirkwood with five 3-pointers and 20 points. Dante Eldridge played a solid game at point guard and finished with points 16 points, including a clutch 3-pointer, steal and layup coming down the stretch.

DaChaun Anderson collected a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds, helping the Eagles enjoy a 38-24 bulge on the boards.

Kirkwood raised its records to 11-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference. Iowa Central fell to 9-9 overall and 1-4 in the league. Javonte Keck scored 23 points for the visitors.
