NO.9 EAGLES DUNK ELLSWORTH FOR 9TH STRAIGHT

The ninth-ranked Kirkwood men's basketball team stayed in first place in the ICCAC standings Thursday night with a 76-51 victory over Ellsworth at Johnson Hall.

The Eagles, riding a nine-game winning streak, raised their conference record to 11-2 with three games left in the regular season. Kirkwood leads DMACC (8-2) and Iowa Lakes (8-4) in the standings.

DaChaun Anderson and Blake Brinkmeyer collected double-doubles for Kirkwood. Anderson finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Brinkmeyer contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Dre Anderson finished with 12 points for the Eagles. Dante Eldridge had 11 points, five assists, three steals and two rebounds.

Kirkwood (19-6) will face its two challengers for the conference title on the road, with trips to Iowa Lakes Saturday and DMACC Feb. 23 in the final game of the regular season.
