Kirkwood WBB wins home opener against Black Hawk

Third-ranked Kirkwood used a 28-0 run over a seven-minute stretch in the first half to blow open their home opener vs. Black Hawk en route to an 82-30 victory.
 
Leading 19-10 with 2:09 left in the first quarter, the Eagles would use their stingy defense to score the next 28 points of the game and take a commanding 47-10 lead with 5:07 remaining in the second quarter.
 
Kirkwood (3-0 overall) would lead 55-14 at halftime.
 
The Eagles finished with four players in double figures, led by sophomore Tasia Jordan, who finished with a career-high 18 points.
 
Sophomores Karsyn Stratton and Dom Rodriguez both finished with 13 points and sophomore Kortney Drake added 10 points and a game-high 9 rebounds.
 
Kirkwood will be in action again this weekend, as they travel to East Peoria, IL (Illinois Central Classic).  They'll face No.4 ranked Parkland on Friday, 5:30 pm and No.6 Illinois Central on Saturday at 2 pm.
