NO.2 EAGLES WALLOP NO.19 TRITONS

The expected showdown became a beat-down.

The second-ranked Kirkwood Eagles dumped 19th-ranked Iowa Central, 84-50, in a showdown for first place between ranked women's basketball teams in the ICCAC conference.

The Tritons began the game with a spotless 14-0 overall record and 4-0 mark in the league, but they were no match for the Eagles at Johnson Hall.

Ashley Tull collected another double-double for Kirkwood with 16 points and 11 rebounds as the Eagles raised their records to 15-1 overall and 6-0 in the ICCAC.

Karsyn Stratton and Kortney Drake scored 10 points apiece for Kirkwood, which shot 52.3 percent from the field and 45 percent on 3-pointers. The Eagles dominated the backboards, 44-18, and committed only two turnovers in the entire first half.

Autum Dykstra hit six 3-pointers and scored 24 points for Iowa Central.
