NO.2 EAGLES SLIP PAST NIACC
The second-ranked Kirkwood women's basketball team defeated NIACC, 59-50, in an ICCAC conference game at Johnson Hall Thursday night.
The Eagles built a 39-28 lead at halftime, then struggled and scored only 20 points in the second half.
Ashley Tull got into foul trouble and played only 16 minutes, but the Kirkwood center still managed a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Kortney Drake also scored 10 points for the Eagles.
Kirkwood raised its records to 19-1 overall and 10-0 in the conference. NIACC fell to 11-6 overall and 3-6 in the league.
Kirkwood hosts Iowa Western in a key game Saturday at 2 p.m.
