NO.1 KCC WOMEN ROLL IN NJCAA OPENER

PORT HURON, Mich. - Ashley Tull snared a career-best 19 rebounds Tuesday as the top-ranked Kirkwood Eagles defeated Dakota College, 77-47, in the opening round of the NJCAA Division II national tournament at the SC4 Fieldhouse.

Kirkwood (33-1) will face No. 8 North Central Missouri (25-5) in the quarterfinals Thursday at 5 p.m.

Tull also collected 14 points, three blocks, two steals and two assists as the Eagles won for the 20th straight game. Karsyn Stratton matched Tull with 14 points and had six rebounds.

Jada Devine popped in three 3-pointers and scored 10 points. Kortney Drake also hit three triples for nine points.

Kirkwood shot 10 for 20 on 3-pointers in the ballgame. The Eagles scored the final 12 points of the first half to take a 36-19 lead at halftime.

Maria Moore led Dakota College with 14 points.
