Kirkwood Drops to Iowa Central
Cedar Rapids, IA- The Eagle's slow start to their game against Iowa Central resulted in a loss in their conference home opener.
The Kirkwood Eagles fell to the Iowa Central Tritons 83-62 in Johnson Hall on Wednesday evening. The Eagles struggled to connect from deep, shooting a season low three point percentage (18.2%, only making (4-22) for the game). Zach Erwin led the Eagles with 10 points while Germaine Benson followed with nine points off the bench.
The Eagles had some defensive lapses throughout and allowed the Tritons to make 13 threes in the contest, shooting a game high 43% from behind the arc. The Tritons made good on their free throws, finishing the game shooting 75% (18-24).
The Eagles are now 1-1 in ICCAC play. They travel to Estherville, IA this Saturday to match up against the Iowa Lakes Lakers at 3:00pm.
