#3 Eagles Prove Too Much for the Spartans

Cedar Rapids, IA- The third ranked Kirkwood Eagles welcomed the Southwestern Spartans into Johnson Hall on Wednesday night.

The Kirkwood Eagles had a well-rounded performance, with every player who entered the game contributing to the scoring. Leading the way was Lucas Lueth with 14 points, followed by Traijan Sain and Ben Bockman, who each added 12. Colby Dolphin also reached double digits, finishing with 10 points.

Kirkwood had an efficient shooting night, hitting 55% of their field goal attempts. From beyond the arc, they shot 38.5%, sinking 10 of 26 three-pointers. Bockman led the deep shooting effort with three triples, while Tate Petersen and Dolphin each knocked down two.

A dominant second-half surge helped the Eagles overpower the Spartans, as they poured in 51 points after halftime. They shot an impressive 60% from the field in the second half and were a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line. The bench also played a key role, contributing 43 points to the team's total.

The Eagles will celebrate Sophomore Night this Saturday when they take on the Iowa Lakes Lakers at 3:00 PM.
