
#2 Kirkwood Claims Victory Over #9 Ellsworth
Iowa Falls, IA- The Kirkwood Eagles traveled on the road last night ot take on the #9 Ellsworth Panthers in Iowa Falls. The Eagles posted 4 players in double digits, led by Richard Lindsey Jr. with 17 points. Lindsey earned his first career double-double with 10 rebounds, netting his season high in both points and rebounds. Tate Petersen finished with 16 points while Colby Dolphin dropped 13 points and Germaine Benson finished with 10 points off the bench to round out the double-digit category.
In a hard fought battle on the boards, the league leading rebounding team lost to the Eagles on the glass in a close battle (42-39). Lucas Lueth lead the team in rebounding, capturing 11 rebounds and netting his career-high. Lindsey Jr. grabbing 10 rebounds to set his career-high in rebounds also.
The Eagles exploited the Panther's defense, getting to the foul line to shoot 39 free throws in the contest. Tate Petersen was perfect from the line, going 10-10, eclipsing his previous record of 9-9 for a new career high in free throws made in a game.
Lucas Lueth also turned away 5 shots, finishing the game with 5 blocked shots. This tied his most in a game for the third time this season.
Kirkwood will be at Johnson Hall this Saturday to take on the Northeast Hawks @ 3:00pm!
