#1 Eagles go 2-0 at Kirkwood Classic

Cedar Rapids, IA- Kirkwood earned their second victory in as many days with a 76-51 victory over Bryant & Stratton on Saturday at the Kirkwood Classic in Cedar Rapids.
 
The Eagles struggled throughout the first half, as they trailed for the first time this season at halftime 31-29.
 
Kirkwood (6-0) made the needed adjustments at halftime, as their offense came alive in the third quarter thanks to a 19-3 run over the first 5:00 of the quarter.
 
Sophomore Kaylee Corbin scored 11 of her career-high 24 points in the run. Corbin also added a career-high 12 rebounds.
 
The Eagles took control of the game in the third quarter as they led 58-43 heading into the final quarter of play.
 
Sophomore Demetria Prewitt also finished in double figures with 12 points & 8 rebounds.
 
Sophomore Emily Dreckman finished with 9 points & a career-high 10 rebounds.
 
Freshman Jenna Twedt added 8 points & her defense helped hold one of the nation's leading scorers at 21.8 points per game to just 4 points.
 
The Eagles are now off for the Thanksgiving holiday & will return to action on Wednesday, November 29th when they host Black Hawk at Johnson Hall.
