#1 Eagles Roll Through Black Hawk

Cedar Rapids, IA- Playing their first game in 10 days, top ranked Kirkwood had to shake off the rust early on in their 74-40 victory over Black Hawk Wednesday night at Johnson Hall.

With the score tied 8-8 with 5:26 remaining in the first quarter, the Eagles would use a 16-2 run to end the quarter & take a 26-10 lead.
 
Freshman Lizzy Puot spearheaded the run, as she scored 8 points in that stretch.
 
The Eagles locked down the Braves on the defensive end in the first half, as they increased their lead to 41-17 at halftime.
 
Kirkwood (7-0) saw their lead increase to 65-26 at the end of the third quarter.
 
Sophomore Kaylee Corbin led the Eagles in scoring with a game high 18 points & 11 rebounds.
 
Sophomore Demetria Prewitt added 17 points, 13 coming in the third quarter alone.
 
Puot finished with a career high 15 points & added 6 rebounds.
 
The Eagles begin conference play on Saturday, as they travel to Keokuk to take on Southeastern at 1:00 pm.
