Kirkwood Women's Basketball All-Region Recognition

Cedar Rapids, IA- After earning a share of the ICCAC conference title this season six Kirkwood women's basketball players earned ICCAC All-Region honors for their play on the court.

Sophomore Demetria Prewitt & freshman Jenna Twedt earned ICCAC First Team honors.
 
Prewitt finished in the top 10 in three categories, scoring (16.4), rebounds (7.3), and field goal percentage (55.4%) during conference play. 
 
The Madison, WI native also recorded seven double-doubles this season. Prewitt scored a career-high 29 points vs. both Iowa Western & Iowa Lakes.
 
Twedt averaged 14.2 points per game, which ranked second amongst freshmen during ICCAC play. 
 
The Atkins, IA native finished first in free throw percentage (87.5%) & third in made three-pointers (57) during conference play.
 
Twedt scored a career-high 31 points vs. NIACC on February 14th & tied a school record with nine made three-pointers in the 81-72 victory.
 
A trio of sophomores earned ICCAC Second Team honors for the Eagles.
 
Emily Dreckman, a Marcus, IA native, averaged 9.0 points per game & finished fourth with 46 made three-pointers during conference play.
 
Dreckman connected on 6-10 three-pointers in the Eagle's 63-49 victory over Southwestern on December 6th.
 
Kaylee Corbin averaged 8.8 points & 5.4 rebounds during conference play.
 
The Letts, IA native also ranked in the top 10 in field goal percentage, finishing seventh 47.4%.
 
Zhakyla Evans averaged 8.3 points and 5.5 assists per game during conference play for the Eagles. 
 
Evans, a native Rockford, IL native, led the conference in assists-to-turnover ratio at 3.3 per game.
 
Freshman Lizzy Puot, a native of Des Moines, rounded out the Eagle's individual honors as she was recognized on the ICCAC Third Team.
 
Puot averaged 6.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in conference play. She also finished 10th in field goal percentage (46.2%).
 
Kirkwood Head Coach Kim Muhl was named Region 11 Coach of the Year for a record 22nd time during his Hall of Fame career.
 
Currently, in his 35th season leading the Eagles, Muhl has guided them to 20+ wins each season & has led the Eagles to a NJCAA record eight National Titles.
 
Muhl currently is the NJCAA Women's Basketball All-Time Win Leader with an astounding record of 1041-171 (85.9%).
